Our community

The Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools works closely with local businesses and services to provide a wide range of initiatives and activities that benefit students, parents and the wider community in the Cessnock Local Government Area.

Over 700 CCGPS students delivered books to local businesses. 

Mayoral Academic Challenge

Schools from the Cessnock LGA participate in a general knowledge contest to compete for prize money to spend on resources for their school.

Volunteering Our Time

Schools also often work with community organisations such as Lions International to help strengthen student leadership qualities. Programs such as Lions Youth of the Year and Leo Clubs are run in conjunction with our local high schools to further develop student leadership qualities.

CCGPS would like to Acknowledge the Wonnarua, Awabakal and Darkinyung people who are the Traditional Custodians of our Land.
